On the afternoon of Saturday 11th February, the Up Men programme will be hosting a sculpture walk in Hem Heath Woods in partnership with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. The guided walk and talk will be led by Duncan Coleman, around the largest ancient woodland in urban Stoke.
Duncan will support us to work together to create a piece of environmental art.
The sculptures will be inspired by Cheshire born Andrew Goldsworthy OBE , a sculptor, photographer, and environmentalist who produces site-specific sculptures and land art situated in natural and urban settings.
We will end the afternoon with a morale-boosting campfire as we gather to reflect on the afternoon with the aid of hot drinks and biscuits!
Duncan is a Forest School Trainer but has over 15 years’ experience working within outdoor and environmental education both in the UK and abroad. He is a passionate naturalist and keen bushcraft practitioner and has been working for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust for over 8 years in a variety of roles.
This FREE activity is open to anyone who identifies as male.
The sculpture walk and talk will begin at 1pm and will last for around 2 ½ to 3 hours. Email Adrian on upmen@restoke.org.uk if you have any questions!
